Belgrade Waterfront is a huge project started in 2014 and driven by the Serbian government and Dubai investors. It is an ambitious plan to rebuild the old Sava and Danube city centre docks into a brand new commercial and residential complex.
Since ancient times, Belgrade has been a crossroad between Western & Easter Europe. Connected by its two rivers, it creates the perfect gateway between the Balkans and Central Europe. The water connects.
We used traditional Serbian/Slavic embroidery as the common thread to represent the brandmark of this new area in the old town –the typographical connected structure emphasises the idea of network and central hub, expressed by a characteristic use of the graphical heritage of the Serbian people.
Yep, unfortunately and after all the hard work (embroidery included) in the end it didn’t happen, but we are still quite proud of our Slavic Embroidery concept, typography & Balkan amulet illustrations.
